I haven’t been blogging for a bit and I want to explain what has been going on. Whenever I come back I feel like  I say I never expected to take a break and I really do mean it. So I just want to explain before I get into all the things I have planned for summer. There are so many goals I have for this summer that I want to tell you and I feel like if I have it written down it will happen. So let me get into my life update & summer goals

Life Update

So let’s talk about why I have been posting on the blog. Once again I thought that after my 12 days of Christmas I would get right back into writing but that didn’t happen. The first time I was still grieving my friend’s death so it was a lot, but this year was different because I felt like I was doing a lot better. I mean I was but I keep forgetting that even without grief I deal with a lot of mental health issues.

The other thing I realized was that when I was consistent on the blog I had the whole day to myself to work on it. I was an online ESL teacher to students in China working from 3:00 am until 9:00 am. So I had time during the day to work. I switched to being an online reading tutor to students here in the U.S working from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

In between classes I would try to get stuff done for the blog and social media but it wasn’t enough time. I felt like I was doing the bare minimum so I decided to wake up early to get things done. It took me so long to actually get up early. I was so confused about how I used to be able to wake up at 3:00 am. But I finally figured out a schedule.

I would wake up at 6:00am to plan my day and get all of my mundane tasks out of the way. Then I would go for a walk at 8:00am. After my walk I’ll make a smoothie and shower so I can start my first class at 10:00 am. I would try to get stuff done after class but I was too tired. My focus was to keep up with Instagram because that’s my biggest platform but I wasn’t that active with my audience. I would comment back but all of the activities I had on my stories for engagement stopped. It felt like I was just posting to get it done.

Now summer is here and I don’t have classes to teach. At first I thought that I was going to get right back into blogging but no. My first week off I took a break. I basically slept for a week straight but I think I needed it. Once I started to get back into the blog is when the problems arise.

The first thing was that my website shutdown because of one stupid plugin. It’s so annoying how one thing can completely mess things up. I fixed the issue and then the next problem happened. My website got hacked and is currently still hacked. I changed the password but I have to fix a lot of things and I honestly don’t know what to do. So I’m ignoring the problem right now.

Now that I have caught you up let’s get into my summer goals

Summer Goals

Post more on IG

Since I’m barely working during the summer I want to post almost everyday. I used to post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday because I was overwhelmed with everything else but now I have the time to post more frequently. This means I will have not just more content but better content for the summer which I’m excited about.

Focus on growth on social media

This kind of goes with the first goal, since I’m posting more I’ll probably grow more. I am all about community and engaging with my audience but because of work I couldn’t focus on increasing my follower count. There are moment that I wish I have a larger audience but I know that it takes time. I want to reach a wider audience but I want to do it in an organic way. So I think posting more will help and I’m planning other things as well.

Release my ebook

This is something that I’ve put off for a while and needs to finally be done. I wrote an e-book in March to help small creators start getting PR packages and collabs. It’s going to help so many creators I just need to get it out. I have a whole plan or it. There’s an e-book, email pitch template and a list of brand emails to contact. I’m going to sell it individually and bundle it. Plus if someone want extra help I will offer an hour phone call.   This is also something that can help me make money this summer.

Giveaways

I’m planning four giveaways for August to celebrate my birthday month and I think it the perfect way to end summer. I’m thinking of doing two that are local to the SWFL area and two that anyone can enter. I’m still trying to figure out the prizes but I know I’ll make sure that it’s worth it.

Connect with new people

This summer I’m trying to connect with more people that live in the SWFL area. I want to meet more creative people that I can collaborate with or even hang out to brainstorm ideas. I realize that I can’t do this alone anymore. There’s a quote about how you can go further with people and I’m already seeing that. I’m already making new friendships by going out of my comfort zone and it feels good.

Get invited to influencer events

I want to be invited to influencer events this summer. The funny thing is I told this to a friend and the next day I was invited to an influencer event to get my nails done. I’m so excited and hope that this continues for the rest of the summer.

Go on a boat

This summer I want to be invited to go on a boat. I want this to happen so bad because I see so many people I know on boats and I want that to be me. There maybe a chance that I go and I’m praying that it actually happens.

Actually celebrate my birthday

My birthday is August 16th and this year I actually want to invite people over to celebrate. Last year I had a seafood boil with my mom and my sister. I want to do the seafood boil again but with friends and people I consider family. I think this year I’m really leaning into community while last year i wanted to do things alone,

  1. I’m sorry to hear you had problems with your website, and also that it got hacked. As a blogger, I would also be heartbroken if that happened to me.

I’m glad you got invited to that influencer event; those mean so much no matter how small or big. 🙂

One of my goals is just to focus on growth and reaching the right people with my blog. I hope things work out for you and you can return to blogging soon 🙂
